Heuristic Play for 6m-18m (Accompanied)
Description
Heuristic Play is an amalgamation of our signature Baby Moves & Music and Baby on the Move & Music classes.
This session supports a baby's transition from seated, to crawling, to wandering through a hand picked range of materials that they are able to explore to increase their sensorial experiences.
The children start with the wonder of The Treasure Baskets found filled to the brim with items offering rich sensory experiences for touch, smell, taste, sound and sight, and for the sixth sense of bodily movement. As they become more mobile, they start moving on to the free flow Market Place. At this age the world is one big experiment, and children will naturally progress from asking 'what is it?' to ‘what does it do?’ and ‘what can I do with it?’.
This class is woven together in a magical way following the baby’s lead, listening to and echoed by voice and instruments. The tone of this class follows the group's development starting from a calming focus with gentle aromatherapy, singing and guitar, to a more active and dynamic energy as the children begin to roam. This class finishes with an interactive music session with plenty of actions, props and instruments.
Classroom Setup: Because the children are transitioning from crawling to toddling, our classroom is set out at floor level enabling independent movement around the whole space while always having that reassuring line of sight with their parent/carer. The free flow classroom enables your child to practice their independence, social skills and further develop their skills through which ever schema is currently captivating their attention.
