Description

This class is created and guided by a teacher from our Montessori nursery schools and is a gentle introduction to a classroom setting. Each child has the freedom to choose from a variety of carefully planned activities and Montessori materials. Our Montessori teacher observes the children’s development throughout the term and in response to this, new materials are made available in the second half of the term to allow enough time to gain familiarity with each activity. This helps to build on what the children have been working on and to provide new opportunities to extend the child’s learning.  More regular changes in the classroom are made through the themed mark making and imaginary play stations. The children work independently, guided by our teachers and each activity encourages the child’s development. You will see the classroom transform throughout the term as the children develop their independence and practice their concentration skills. This class is perfect preparation for Nursery School, providing the building blocks for future learning.

Classroom Setup: The same as in our Montessori nursery classrooms activities are stationed on shelves around the room and the children are encouraged to return the activity back to the shelf before selecting a new one. Work mats are available for floor based activities.

  • My daughter has been attending the Baby Moves & Music classes, and both she and I have loved them. She has loved meeting other babies and slowly interacting with them, whilst I have loved to see my daughter flourish with the independence that these classes encourage in our children. The singing is always fun and the little duckies are a huge hit - we can’t wait for our class every week!
