Bayswater newsletter
6th January 2010
Dear Parents,
Happy New Year! I hope that you enjoyed the holidays and had lots of fun playing in the snow!
As you know Miss Kate will be returning to Australia after the half term break. We are in the process of recruiting and will keep you informed.
This term we are continuing to be particularly diligent protecting the children and staff from infection. Following health guidelines we ask you to keep your children home for 48 hours after a temperature or the last occurrence of diaorrhea or vomiting. Please could you also keep your children home if they have bad colds or excessive coughing. If your child needs medicine it is best that they stay at home. The only exception to this is when they are fully recovered but are completing a course of antibiotics. If your child is sick at school we will call you to request that you take your child home. We always try to contact parents first but we will then use the contacts in emergency. If you have changed any contact details please ensure that you advise us promptly.
I have put up a Nature Rota on the Notice Board. Please help your child find something natural for the Nature Table. This can include visiting the park or a florist or bringing in something from home for the week. The children on the rota will be taught how to care for the Nature Table that week. The children who are not on the rota this term will be on it next. Each week every child brings in some fruit or vegetables to share with their friends at the break table. Children can help themselves to this throughout the session.
Please remember that we are unable to open the doors before 9.15 and 1.15. We like to have the environment ready for the children on their arrival. We also aim to have the classroom quiet with all children working by 9.30 so please try and be punctual so that you have time to chat but everybody has gone by 9.30. The children are encouraged to bring in any item of their choice for Show and Tell on Tuesday afternoons and Friday mornings but we ask them not to bring things on other days.
If any parent would like to come and do a project with us this term please let me know. You are welcome to make an appointment with any of the teachers or me at 8.50 in the mornings or at the end of the day. We will be having another Parents Evening next term. We will put up quick notes informing you of the activities that the children have been doing during the day. Please ensure you check the notice board.
You are welcome to keep scooters, bicycles and pushchairs downstairs in the men’s toilets but please store them safely, folding up push chairs. It is not safe for children to get their own scooters from this area.
For those of you leaving in July it would be really helpful if you could send written notice to the office as soon as possible. Thank you.
Looking forward to a good term,
Kind regards,
Vinni
